How to get to Lizard Island

Voyages Lizard Island is located 240km north of Cairns and 27km off the coast of North Queensland.

Getting to Cairns

To get to Lizard Island regular flights are available to Cairns from all Australian Capital cities with Qantas and Virgin Blue. Alternatively Queensland Rail offers two Tilt trains and three Sunlander departures from Brisbane to Cairns.

From Cairns International Airport you will then need to take a short 60 minute Hinterland flight transfer to Lizard Island. Alternatively; if you prefer a private charter this can also be arranged. Please see below for further details.

By Scenic Flight

Hinterland Aviation operates scheduled regular scenic transfer flights between Cairns Airport and Lizard Island up to 2 times daily on behalf of Voyages Hotels & Resorts. Private transfer charter flights to Lizard Island are also available upon request.

Transfer duration: approx. 45 min. Check-in is 30 minutes prior to the flight departure at the Hinterland Aviation terminal.
